An educator at heart

Born in Toronto and raised in Oakville, I have always felt deeply connected to the communities and families in this area. After completing Teachers College at York University, I spent eight years working as an educator in the classroom. This experience shaped my understanding of how children learn, develop and thrive.

A parent with a different vision

When I became a mom to two children under the age of three, I dreamed of creating the kind of space I was searching for but could never quite find: a place where children could play, learn and explore, and where parents felt genuinely welcomed and cared for.

Too often, the indoor play spaces I visited felt overwhelming. The colours were loud, the lighting was harsh, and simple comforts, like a private room where I could nurse my children, were missing. I wanted something calmer and more intentional: a beautiful, welcoming environment designed around the needs of the whole family.

A place for the whole family

Drawing on my experience as an educator, I set out to bring the best parts of the classroom into an indoor play space. I wanted play to feel joyful and exciting, but also purposeful, encouraging curiosity, creativity and development without the chaos.

I also wanted The Real Play Co. to support children beyond the play space. Our tutoring programs, led by Ontario Certified Teachers, provide thoughtful, individualized support that helps children strengthen their skills and build confidence. Our camps bring learning and play together through engaging experiences designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and connection.

That same philosophy shapes our café. As a parent, I have always looked for clean, wholesome choices for my family. Our café serves real food made with thoughtfully selected organic ingredients, giving families options they can feel good about.

Every part of The Real Play Co. has been consciously designed, from the warm colours and gentle lighting to the meaningful materials and engaging experiences. It is more than an indoor playground; it is the welcoming, thoughtful community I wanted for my own children, and one I am proud to share with families.
